The main advantage of Rezoxy is its non-toxic nature for humans and animals, while being extremely strong and efficient at the same time. Rezoxy is colorless like water and has no taste or odor, so there is no change to the taste of food or water. In its diluted form it is non-irritant to eyes, skin and mucous membranes, and it is non-carcinogenic and non-mutagenic. There is no resistance formation of microorganisms against Rezoxy. Unlike Chlorine and Hydrogen Peroxide, Rezoxy is stable in hot temperatures and hot temperature in-use solutions.

Based on hydrogen peroxide and silver Rezoxy represents an efficient, non-toxic and environmental friendly technology in all fields.According to the EEC, WHO, and the USEPA silver and hydrogen peroxide pose no harmful effects to humans (Pedahzur et al 1995).France, Germany, Switzerland and Australia have all approved hydrogen Peroxide / silver products for drinking water disinfection (Pedahzur et al 1995, Shuval et al 1995).

A special feature of Rezoxy is its superior impact and efficiency through the combined use of hydrogen peroxide and silver as dual phase product. Compared to other disinfectants, Rezoxy disinfectants are capable to destroy biofilms. This process is important in destruction of viruses and bacteria, which creates so called biofilms as natural protection. Oxygen separated from hydrogen peroxide destroys biofilms, thus enabling silver to destroy the bacteria or virus unhindered.

The active substance used is hydrogen peroxide, an environment friendly substance. In a complex manufacturing procedure, the active substance is stabilized and boosted with silver, thus achieving a greatly improved effectiveness against micro-organisms. The traces of silver remaining on the treated surfaces are not visible and non toxic. However, they efficiently inhibit a renewed contamination.

The elemental oxygen (O2) separated by the hydrogen peroxide attacks the cell walls of the micro-organisms directly. The chemical reaction between the oxygen and the cell wall molecules will cause these to be denatured and destroyed. This effect is intensified by the silver ions which form a bond with the disulfide bridge of certain proteins of micro-organisms, thereby inactivating or precipitating these proteins.
