    Animal House Program
    Protecting Your Livestock
Farmers today are more aware than ever before, that the environment in which animals are kept is vitally important to their performance, and nowhere on the modern farm is this more evident than in the livestock housing.

Whilst farmers can ensure that stress levels are as low as possible by keeping stocking densities, dust and bacteria levels under control, it is vital that a hygiene program is followed to reduce the risk of infection.

Disease can cause financial losses not only as a result of high mortality rates, but also because it can cause poor feed conversion ratios in livestock that is struggling to fight off infection.

An essential element of a successful hygiene programme is the use of a disinfectant capable of killing the bacteria, fungi and viruses which cause the major livestock diseases.

Applications include:

  • Surface Disinfection
  • Fumigation
  • Disinfection of Water Drinkers and distribution piping
  • Litter disinfection in the presence of live animals

Poultry Disinfectant Program

A rigorous and effective disinfection program is essential for the effective elimination of viral bacterial and fungal disease-causing micro-organisms. Disease in poultry can result not only in direct losses due to dead birds but also due to poor feed conversions and low weights. The financial cost of these losses far outweighs the cost of implementing an effective cleaning and disinfection program.

Detergent cleaners remove grease and protein that water cannot penetrate. A correctly cleaned animal house allows disinfectant to be absorbed into its material structure ensuring an effective kill and residual protection.

The use of DEFRA approved disinfectants to combat the range of potential diseases is highly recommended. Reza Hygiene provide a range of DEFRA approved disinfectants, including Gluteraldehyde, iodine and PAA based formulations.

Dairy Livestock Protection

Farmers today are more aware than ever before, the environment in which animals are kept is vitally important to their performance, and nowhere on the modern farm is this more evident than in the livestock housing.

It is vital that a hygiene programme is followed to reduce the risk of infection and thereby reduce financial losses, not only as a result of high mortality rates, but also due to poor feed conversion ratios when livestock are struggling to fight off infection.

An essential element of a successful hygiene programme is the use of a DEFRA approved disinfectant capable of killing the bacteria, fungi and viruses which cause the major livestock diseases. The most famous of these is FAM (now reformulated and improved as FAM30) , used as the UK Governments main weapon against the devastating Foot and Mouth disease epidemic in 1967/68.
Fam 30 has continued to establish its reputation as the leading Iodophor livestock disinfectant in the world, effective in all water hardness and conditions found in todays intensive livestock farming industry.

Used as part of the Biosystem 3000 cleaning and disinfection programme, Fam 30 will reduce the microbial challenge and result in healthier livestock and, of course, financial savings.
